everything in its place

I've just walked in for lunch from work and was trying to find some photos to show you when I walked past Siena's desk and just had to show you what she's set up...all the textas lined up in rainbow order. It reminds me of my first job where I used to work in an art shop and my favourite chore was to arrange all the pastels, pencils and paints in rainbows!
Like mother like daughter.

time for tea...

Yesterday afternoon I found myself re-arranging all the ornaments around the house. A few months ago I remember seeing a few tea cups lined up on a window sill
in a magazine and I just had to try it too!

Very cute and as I don't get them out often, it's nice to see my collection of tea cups.

The polka dot ones were my grandmothers and seem very 'Alice in Wonderland' and dreamy.
Some I got from daggy old Spotlight, others the antique shop in Paddington,
so I have an eclectic mix!

Then we have the special one...survived being posted back from England from my good friend Narelle as a gift to me, not sure how old it is or anything, but I love it and treasure it.

Pink

Today is all about pink! Just the thing I need, as I woke up this morning very cold in our lovely old house (with gaps in the floorboards and wooden windows that don't seal properly) and the warm pink tones are just that - warming to the soul.

Beautiful blue

Over the weekend I had breakfast with friends and we wandered through lots of little shops afterwards in the Valley, finding lots of good ideas along the way! Blues of all types kept grabbing my attention.

With the Designer's Emporium markets on the cusp of running again in a new location, I have been thinking up new things to show, and blue, my favourite hue has been the biggest inspiration so far with lots of new things in the pipeline.

I will have to get super organised as I'm heading into wedding season with photography, my part time job has doubled with winter approaching, my husband is heading overseas for a few work trips and as always, children and home need constant attention.

So, stay tuned for any developments and my new creations as they emerge from the mess that has become my study....hopefully, see you at the markets soon!

Sandstone

These colours are some of my favourites...rich golden browns, rust, and all things warm!

Silverton near Broken Hill.

My all time favourite - glowing grasses from the Barossa Valley.

Red

Inspired by colour yesterday, red is my colour for today!
It's fun looking through a few files just searching by colour and seeing what you find.
Strawberries, cherries, rust, roses and a red Ferrari...obviously!!

Green

A couple of days ago my new business cards arrived!!! I'm really happy with them and to celebrate I felt like looking at the photo that I used...then I saw all these other 'green' photos!
I think they look interesting all together. Now I'm wondering - do I have all the colours of the rainbow? Me?? of course I do!!

Off to the framers

I'm just off to the framers to put in these photos to get framed!
I love grouping them together to make a bit of a 'story' and being able to have a few different expressions and of course my favourite part - the little bits of nature from the location too.
I'll get an off-white matt and very dark brown almost black frame to match some the family already have on their walls I took a few years ago.
It's lovely being able to see the finished product that I've created.

Best Mates

A gorgeous autumnal afternoon at the park...one of those perfect days with good friends, sausages on the BBQ, kids riding madly on their bikes for hours and the adults going through a bottle of good champagne!
This is my son Dante with his bestest best friend Jack....they are lovely friends and just click together from running round like loonies to sitting down and talking for ages like little old men!
Mid week has me snowed under with work work work and all different directions of my life competing for attention, so this photo sitting on my desk makes me all warm inside...
and ready for next weekend!

Pretty paper packages....

...just need it tied up with string...these are a few of my favourite things...

Had coffee this morning with a dear friend and we had to
wait patiently until 10am for opening time....
but worth the wait for Funky Fabrics at Mitchelton!

Just divine...CAT fabric!!! So adorable and just the thing to finish off Siena's room.

Now I will have to decide what to make - cushions? lampshade?...???

I've never seen such gorgeous cat fabric before and the shop is amazing...makes you want to stretch fabric over canvas's, make new cushions for every room in the house, sew the kids skirts and pants..etc ...etc..
very inspiring! Have a visit if you're out this way.
