Loving red - still!!!

Footpath art!

I was picking up my kids from vacation care last week 

and saw these gorgeous works of art on the path....

needless to say, I drove home and back again with camera this time :)

Decorations...

Did this up for Easter on our table...but really, it would work for anytime at all!

Place jelly beans in a vase, then push flowers stems that are wrapped in wet paper towel and foil...

I can imagine going further with this and just using a couple of colours at a time - say pink and blue with matching flowers :)

The menu...

As the party theme was bunting...

my lovely sister made some triangle fairy bread 

for me to arrange down the entire length of the table along a pretty ribbon!

Then I added, lollies, fruit kebabs, jellys, the most amazing cucumber sandwiches 

(more inspiration from this months Women's Weekly!) 

and a gorgeous punch consisting of passionfruit, cranberry juice and lemonade!

THE cake!

Inspired by the recipe in the Women's Weekly, 

I made a double batch of Pink Velvet cake for Lolly's party on the weekend!

It took longer than the time specified to cook and crumbled and cracked a bit,

BUT once layered with the gorgeous cream cheese and marscarpone cheese icing, 

it was utter perfection!

Although it is essentially a chocolate cake coloured pink....

I think your eyes play tricks on you, as you would swear it tasted like lushious raspberries :)

School holiday fun!

Week one of school holidays has been and gone already - time sure flies!

I met some other mums from school at a local park and we had a blissful morning climbing trees, running round, eating the odd bit of pine bark (Lolly!) and enjoying the perfect sunny not-too-hot days.

Week two here we come!!

Can you believe my little Lolly turns one today!

I love her completely and she makes my heart flip flop every time I look at her,
