Last week my Mum gave me my Christmas present....a divine Epiphanie bag - as much gorgeous handbag as it is a protective camera bag!! Best invention ever, as I often found myself wrapping my camera in a wrap or even a cloth nappy in desperation to not cart the big boxy camera bag somewhere when I want to sling a handbag over my shoulder. This is the answer ladies....AND the inside padded section with lots of removable walls is a stunning hot pink xx

Tassie and Port Douglas are DONE!

So, ignoring the everyday albums still to do...

that means I can jet off to New York in a few weeks to make some more hey!!!

Human nature is such a funny thing...we've just spent years (and lots of cash) making our house perfect in our eyes...I said I'd never leave, but suddenly over the holidays, we are toying with the idea of selling/renting/who knows what really.

Time for a new adventure!

So, as any real mother under the sun will know, the house is NEVER like this...I had it assessed by a real estate agent and had to tidy up AND mop all in the same day!!

Anyone want to buy a pretty house?

Shhhhh....

I've got a secret that is so sweet it seems a little sad to let it out as keeping it close to my heart makes it even more delicious - do you find that sometimes too?

BUT, it almost hasn't seemed real it's so out of my normality...so maybe sharing will make it real!!

In April I'm off to spend 10 glorious days in New York city!!!!!!!

Three of my lovely girlfriends and I, from playgroup days, are celebrating a special birthday and after talking about it for years, we finally used up all our frequent flyer points (and our husbands, father's sister's - you name it...we begged borrowed and accepted gifted points!)

So, here we are all booked and starting to make lists of all the things we want to see!

Popped down to the beach last week with a special friend...

the kids all had a fun muddy time....so much so, we're heading back this morning!

We've had the last 3 days here with temperatures close to 40 degrees...the long school holidays are getting tedious for us all and Miss Lolly isn't sleeping well at night....

have to admit I'm counting down the days till school and childcare start so I can recharge my batteries a bit by getting into a few work projects for more than 5 mins at a time and actually COMPLETE something! Imagine that!!

Went to see the Matisse show at GOMA today!

Beginning to get more than a little taken with the iphone camera,

instamatic, hipstamatic and all these fun new toys!!!

We spent hours in the drawing room and all 3 children did some drawings I am going to frame this week, we made a real day of it too and caught the ferry there and back, finishing with a lovely play at the beautiful Newfarm Park...lovely end to a weekend xx

I have to report that I've really taken onboard this whole relaxing thing -

every night we eat outside on the deck after a swim and although

I've been busy decluttering and cleaning up the house, I feel fresh and organised!

Anyway, this was our family Christmas Day - lots of unwrapping, food and bubbles...

this year has been the most rewarding and exhausting and crazy all at once!

Siena and one of her girlfriends decorated this gingerbread house we picked up in kit form at Ikea

This is for all those people - yes ALL those people who insist on telling me at every wedding I ever photograph...what camera I should have, how they can turn their own camera on, what camera bag I need to buy, where I should stand to take the next photo, how I can just photoshop that toilet behind them out and how their cousin is some fantastic photographer...there's heaps more little gems I could share with you, but I just can't afford to start being too bitter and twisted about it :)

My son's year 3 class had their end-of-year break up party doing lawn bowls!!

Mind you, not many of the 50 odd 8 year olds actually followed any direction...

Thanks to the lovely Maxabella...I've fallen in love with these choc-dipped grissini sticks,

rolled in 100's and 1000's - perfect for any party, school function, morning tea...

you name it - if you come to my house over Christmas,

this is what will be on the menu!!!

Last week, Siena and I made some up for her year 5 break-up party...

then to think of something for the Coeliac...I was really pleased with these cones -

gluten free crunchy noodles combined with melted chocolate,

then placed in gluten free cones and topped with a few sprinkles!!

Excuse the late at night kitchen bench piccies...

I'd love to see then on a pretty table standing up in cute little tins wouldn't you?!!

Yesterday I set up a Twine and Teacups shop on Madeit!!!

Pop over here and have a sticky-beak...I might add some more prints this week, I feel ever so clever for doing it all by myself :)

I took Twine to Melbourne last weekend and off to Sydney this weekend, then the last market of the year for me is the Brisbane Twilight Boutique Dec 9th...then I might curl up on the floor for a few days and sleep while the kids on school holidays make cubbies around me!

Finally, over the weekend in Melbourne...all the new Twine and Teacups prints were launched!!

All going well, I should get them on the website later tomorrow.

Had an amazing response, lots of happy customers, so was really pleased...and to top it off, the Sydney Morning Herald featured 'i love you infinity times infinity' :)

Signing off for a few days...after being stuck in Melbourne for an extra day due to Qantas, we're braving flying to Tasmania for a bit of a holiday and a bit of work - can't wait x

I've been out to feed my Mum's cats the last 2 days while they're away on holidays

Last week I went to Ikea with a dear friend and we found great delight in filling 2 trolleys with all things white, green and pretty, because... and this is the really exciting bit...

we're helping my friend's sister (the bride) to style her wedding in a few weeks!!!

After a delicious dessert that easy too?

Last week I made these yummy pears on puff pastry...

but apples, peaches or apricots work just as well!

In a bowl combine 2 peeled and sliced pears.

Add 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, a sprinkle of ground cloves,

1 teaspoon of castor sugar and a dash of lemon juice.

Line a baking tray with baking paper and using a saucer or small plate as a guide,

cut 2 rounds of puff pastry out and place on the tray.

Place the pears in a circle and brush with egg wash or melted butter,

then bake in a 200 degree oven until the edges puff up and go slightly golden in colour.

Perfect served hot with icecream or at room temperature

with some double cream and a cup of tea!

I was lucky/mad enough last week to go along with my son's year 3 class to pick their own strawberries!

First up we went to the Melany dairy to see how milk and milk products were made, then it was off to the Strawberry fields...was SOOO much fun and thanks to a lovely friend who looked after Miss Lolly for the day - was a rare treat to spend some time with my boy xx

Well, I have to say I'm feeling like I'm getting too old sometimes to keep up with what I want to do!

We had a lovely week up near Port Douglas...but really when you have 3 small children and one needs a special diet and another is still a baby...you don't ever really get a break or much relaxing time in do you...still, enjoyed seeing lots of gorgeous places!

We then came home, DD flew off to Paris again and we had our friends and their 2 children stay with us, so was fun seeing them excited about seeing koalas and having a BBQ for tea!!

I then used up lots of babysitting favours with my family and flew to Sydney for the day Saturday for the combined Boutique and Mathilda's Markets. Enjoyed a fabulous day - the crowds were amazing and I did really well selling my lovely wall art...still - lesson learnt...go down the night before...after packing 3 children up, and falling into bed rather late, Qantas texted me at midnight to say my 6am flight was cancelled...got on the 6.30 which ended up being delayed and delayed...so I was the one flustered and stressed and setting up my stall at 9.30am after the market had started!

I can tell you, I am still tired beyond belief, the washing pile is about 9 loads deep at least and my neck is in serious need of a massage or something stronger...can't wait for bed tonight.

Sorry - just had to have a bit of a complain today :)

Not long from now, we are meeting some friends out from the UK up at Port Douglas for a week by the beach!!! DD and I spent part of our honeymoon there, so I can't wait to go back and see what's changed in the last decade or so! I'm hoping it will be a lot warmer than here - I'm really feeling the cold this year and it feels like it's been going on forever...so come on spring!

Well, school is back now for my lot...

but here's a look at what we got up to one morning...roller skating!!

Nothing much has changed in 20 years since I last went, but I do remember skating on the cement at school every lunch time - I bet schools don't let that happen anymore...someone might skin a knee!

Over the weekend, I took my middle baby to Melbourne with me

and we drove up to Mt Donna Buang to see his first snow!

It was so so magical...as we drove up we entered the clouds and it became all misty and atmospheric.

I loved the way the only civilisation up there was a truck renting out toboggans and a caravan selling hot soup and drinks. So we rugged up with all our woolies and headed off...

he must have spent nearly 3 hours going up and down the slopes with his toboggan and admiring snowmen, igloos and of course throwing lots of snowballs!!!

I was so excited to get my copy of the annual Donna Hay Kids mag this week....

my Twine and Teacups prints have been featured twice!!!!

Anyway, madly packing winter woolies to fly to Melbourne tomorrow morning for the

Boutique Markets launch on Sunday at Hawthorn Town Hall 9am - 1pm.

I'm taking my little 8 year old man for a treat and we're going to drive up into the mountains and show him his first snow, so the atmosphere in our house is mounting to near bursting point!!!!
