Flashback....

I meant to share these a couple of weeks ago......I photographed our schools class canvas's and these are my favourites from this year!
Each class gets a canvas and has each child contributes in some way to create a work of art to auction off at the fete.
I'm always amazed by the quality and great ideas.

The morning after

Well, not morning now...it's 1pm!! I've been at school this morning cleaning up the last remnants of the cake stall...what a day...only a teeny tiny box left this morning with a few biccies in it and a few jars of jam...so was a very successfull day!
The kids had a ball, running off with their friends, doing ride after ride, face painting, sand art, pony rides, eating fairy floss and watching the amazing fire works.
A very enjoyable day.
Hope your weekend is lovely too x

Fete day

What a perfect day for the school fete...the sun is brilliant and there's no wind, mud or freezing conditions! Yesterday a whole tribe of mums, dads and staff started putting together all the preparations....every year I am amazed at the amount of baking that arrives to be packaged and priced....the tables are filled to overflowing and heaving under a weight of sugar, chocolate and all things nice!! It was a long day setting up and carting gear here and there but well worth it when you see how lovely it all looks....I did come home with a new bag, apron, various slices, teatowells and jam, so we are well set up for a bit! I was thrilled the the end result of my 'Mondrian' wall of canvas's above and the greeting cards with a photo on the front and the recipie inside look fantastic - thank you Helen for ALL your talent and hard work xx

I spent today preparing for our school fete this Saturday....sewing yellow and orange gingham tablecloths and helping my mum make the most amazing lemon butter.
Each batch had to be tested - so we had to do the right thing and eat some on bread, by the spoon full and even tonight I discovered it's very yummy rolled in crepes with icecream!
Two of her four cats came with us to help pick the lemons and roll in the sun...the one on the right is Mexie - he was my cat until I left home...moved to Sydney, got married and had babies!
He was my birthday present during my first year at university....so he's very, very old now for a cat and still as vocal and friendly as ever. 25 jars and counting.....I better pack up the car with all the bits and bobs to decorate the cake stall tomorrow.
